James E. Thompson JD

James E. (Jim) Thompson, JD practiced law for over 26 years before retiring in 2001.

Teaching has always been a passion of his. After retiring, he founded Lawyers Marketing Resource and The Midwest Consulting Group. Lawyers and Midwest work with Lawyers and other Small Business Owners teaching them the tools they can use to successfully market their services and get the clients they need through “Relationship Marketing”. Additionally, he teaches workshops on getting more and better referrals, effective networking practices and other subjects designed to help lawyers and other small business owners better market their practice or business.

He has been a regular guest on radio programs talking about marketing practices for lawyers. He has spoken to groups as large as 150 talking about “Relationship Marketing”

Jim served his country as a Lt. in the Army from 1968- 1970. In Viet Nam (1969) he served as an Artillery Forward Observer and Advisor to ARVN (Vietnamese Army) Regular and Ranger Units. As a result of his actions in combat, he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. After returning to the States, he served as a Battery Commander at Ft Riley. KS.

Jim attended Miami University on a swimming scholarship, lettering each year and was a Mid-American Conference Champion in his senior year.
